ProLOG 2008 Conference moves to Siberia

Saint-Petersburg,  October 29. - This year, the 3rd International Transport & Logistics Conference ProLOG-Siberia-2008 "Transport Logistics of Siberia: Interactions and Partnership between Transport and Industrial Enterprises" will take place  December 3-4th in Novosibirsk. The main topic of the Conference is dictated by the present status of the Russian national economy: development of industry and transport under conditions of the world financial crisis. The organizers of the Conference have become the Administration of the Novosibirsk Oblast (Department for Transport and Transport Infrastructure) and the transport block of Eurosib Group: the companies Eurosib-Terminal and Eurosib SPb-Transport systems. As  Operator of the Venue  acts  the  Business Engineering consulting bureau.

The 3rd International Transport & Logistics Conference ProLOG-Siberia-2008 is one of few Russian opinion platforms, where  national operators- industrial, transport and logistics companies may gather to discuss common tasks related to transportation of cargoes. The traditional two-day's format of the event will include a number of topic-related sessions, a program of individual business meetings, discussions on most acute problems, and a trip to one of the objects of local transport infrastructure. The gala launch  of "Eurosib-Terminal-Novosibirsk" terminal and logistics complex will take place within the frameworks of the Conference.

Two times  in a row  the ProLOG was held in Saint Petersburg, and in 2007 it was acknowledged by the professional society as  "the best transport conference in Russia". For the first time, an event of such scale will take place not in Moscow or Saint Petersburg, but in the Siberian Federal District, with participation of Government representatives of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Administration of the Siberian Federal District, and of the states - participants of the Siberian logistics market: China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, transport organizations and associations, forwarding companies, customs authorities and industrial enterprises.

The program of ProLOG-Siberia-2008 Conference was formed in the tideway of the latest decisions of the state in the filed of transport. It is not by chance that the last discussion of the transport development strategy till 2030 with the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation  Vladimir Putin took place in Novosibirsk, one of the largest complex transport nodes of Russia, being actually a cargo-distributing center of Siberia. In Novosibirsk, the transport development strategy in the total amount of 170 billion rubles was approved. In his statement, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation called upon the business to participate in the financing of development of the transport system more actively. "It is a question of transport communications required to develop deposits of minerals, and to form new industrial centers", - the Head of the Government explained, having added that such projects are worthy of maximal support on the part of the state.

Discussions of the transport strategy and matters related to interactions and partnership between industrialists and transport workers will be continued at ProLOG-Siberia-2008 Conference. The Event's topics cover the key tendencies in development of transport logistics: ways of stabilization of prices, avoidance of transport costs, interactions between customs services and other participants of the logistical process, outsourcing opportunities for transport services with the purpose of reduction of transport costs. The problem of improvement of coordination between operators of rolling stock, consignees and carriers through formation of a single control center for proprietors of rolling stock, manufacturers' needs for cargo services, and many other matters requiring discussion between the business and regional authorities will be considered during the session devoted to development outlooks of rail transport.
